It’s no mystery that I’m a big fan of giving back to the community. Our Quirk dealerships are involved in local charities all over Massachusetts and New Hampshire. So, while we’re not running the event, I’m proud to announce that Quirk Subaru is proud to be a part of for Subaru’s fourth annual Share the Love event.
Since its start, Subaru has donated nearly $15 million to charities. They’re aiming to donate another $5 million this year, but they can’t do it without you, the Subaru shopper. For every new Subaru bought or leased from November 19, 2011 until January 3, 2012, Subaru is donating $250 to a charity. Which charity? Well, you get a say in that as well!
Join Subaru on Facebook and you’ll be able to vote for one of four charities to become the “People’s Choice.” Voting began August 25 and ends Sept. 15, and each of the first 200,000 votes equals a 10-cent donation to that charity, so act now to have your voice heard!
The four charities are:
Teach For America: Teach For America is the national corps of recent college graduates who commit to teach for two years in urban and rural public schools and become lifelong leaders in expanding educational opportunity. For more information, visit www.teachforamerica.org.
The American Red Cross: The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Children’s Miracle Network: Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals started as a televised fundraiser and has grown into a leading children’s charity. Millions of children benefit each year by the funds and awareness raised by the organization and its network of 170 children’s hospitals across the US. The Make-A-Wish Foundation: The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. With the help of generous donors and nearly 25,000 volunteers, the Make-A-Wish Foundation grants a wish every 40 minutes and has granted more than 200,000 wishes in the United States since its inception.
